Day 6 | A dress I’ve been thinking about for two years

This dress is new. To me. I once saw it in a store window in Loft, fell in love, and since then I've been thinking about it, kicking myself for not buying it when I had the chance. Last week, I decided on a whim to go searching for it on Poshmark, and there it [...]

How I Find Better Clothes for Less Money

When I started buying second-hand, it was because I had just graduated from college and I needed to look like a Certified Adult ASAP if I wanted to get a job. Luckily for me, the consignment shops of Washington, DC are like mid-range business casual Mecca. Ann Taylor suits. J. Crew cashmere sweaters. Banana Republic [...]

Just a friendly reminder that your winter boots probably need some TLC. It's been snowing and raining here on and off for the last couple of weeks, so my leather chelsea boots have taken quite a beating from the ice and puddles and mud and road salt. These are mainly what I wear to walk the dog in the winter, and the dog gets a minimum of 3 walks a day (3-5 miles daily). So what I'm saying is, I put these boots through their paces (ha ha get it) and as of this morning they were looking very dirty and salty and sad. It's 60 degrees and sunny at the moment, so I decided to give my boots a break and a quick clean up. The method: (1) wipe off all the dirt, salt, etc with a slightly damp cloth, (2) buff with shoe brush, (3) rub in shoe cream with soft cloth - I use an old t-shirt, and (4) buff with shoe brush again until they are happy and shiny. Then it's good to leave them overnight (at least) before wearing them again. Okay, that's it. Bye!

I love a good pair of plain black lounge leggings, and I have tried many pairs from many different brands over the years. These are the Go-To Leggings from @wearpact and they are my favorite. They're a thick, opaque cotton, they keep their shape, have a comfortable waist band, don't attract pet hair, and haven't faded in color, despite having been worn and washed dozens of times. I have other leggings from Pact that shrunk (the high waisted leggings, no longer available) or got holes in them (the pocket leggings) but these have stayed trusty and true through many, many wears. Because I can never have too many pairs of black cotton leggings, I also just ordered a pair of their newest style, the Day-Off Lounge Legging. Will let you know what I think when they arrive. Swipe to see a coat.
