How Thinx Completely Changed My Period

I don't think you need a 10-paragraph history of my menstrual cycle for me to explain to you how my period underwear completely changed my life, but I'll provide some highlights that I think are important for context: Three years ago, I switched from using hormonal birth control pills to a copper IUD. Until January [...]

I put this bodysuit away for a couple of months and pulled it out again today because I was just in the mood for it. It got me thinking about doing a "packing party" as a minimalist wardrobe exercise. If you're not familiar with the concept of a packing party, it was coined by @theminimalists, and it's basically a way to determine how much of the stuff that you own you actually think about and use. You pack up your home as if you're moving, and then you take things out of their boxes as you need them. Stuff that never comes out of the box can be sold, donated, or thrown away. I sort of did this with my cold-weather clothes at the beginning of this year when I made a loose capsule wardrobe and put everything else out of sight. There were a few things I pulled out of storage to wear (like this bodysuit), but there were so many things that I didn't wear and didn't miss. I really struggle with parting with my clothes, especially items that were expensive or gifted by a brand, but I think it's time to do some spring cleaning of my closet and just say goodbye to the things I'm not wearing 🌼.

Just a friendly reminder that your winter boots probably need some TLC. It's been snowing and raining here on and off for the last couple of weeks, so my leather chelsea boots have taken quite a beating from the ice and puddles and mud and road salt. These are mainly what I wear to walk the dog in the winter, and the dog gets a minimum of 3 walks a day (3-5 miles daily). So what I'm saying is, I put these boots through their paces (ha ha get it) and as of this morning they were looking very dirty and salty and sad. It's 60 degrees and sunny at the moment, so I decided to give my boots a break and a quick clean up. The method: (1) wipe off all the dirt, salt, etc with a slightly damp cloth, (2) buff with shoe brush, (3) rub in shoe cream with soft cloth - I use an old t-shirt, and (4) buff with shoe brush again until they are happy and shiny. Then it's good to leave them overnight (at least) before wearing them again. Okay, that's it. Bye!
